An effective slicing method for various point clouds that have different densities was proposed.First step, constructed a group of slicing plane. The step-by-step sequence method was used to sort the ribbonlike 3D point data which was obtained according to the slicing plane. Then,a given number of points is selected as specific interpolation nodes for the Dual Lagrange Interpolation. The interpolation points must be specified on the slicing plane.Perform the operation to the whole ribbonlike 3D point data,so the 2D ordered slicing point data can be obtained subsequently and all of them must be on the slicing plane. Finally, the curve of each layer can be created through least square fitting. The instances show that the highlights of the proposed algorithm is the strong adaptability for point clouds with various densities. In addition,it is also accurate, fast, steady and reliable.
