Applications of Item Response Theory and Computerized Adaptive Testing in Clinical Psychological Assessment

Item response theory and computerized adaptive testing are important developments of psychological assessment.Compared with traditional testing methods,this method can assess ability levels in shorter time with fewer items used and greater precision.At present,this method has been used widely in ability testing,and applications in clinical psychological assessments are also developing quickly.In order to promote applications of item response theory and computerized adaptive testing in China,develop practical testing systems and provide patients' general psychological status for clinicians,this paper reviewed the developments in this area and pointed out the directions.
