Fast Interpolation Method for Volume Rendering
Enhua Wu · Acta Simulata Systematica Sinica · 2001
Interpolation is a basic calculation for volume rendering, which costs a lot in the rendering process. For this reason, a new interpolation method is proposed in this paper to improve the calculation for an interpolation and reduce the interpolations by the sample抯 position and its neighboring situation in the volume data. Thus, volume rendering can be accelerated a lot without impairing the image quality. Compared with existing fast interpolation methods for volume rendering, the new method is more efficient.
