According to the tactical and technical demands for the position selection of surface to air missile troops, a hierarchical structured model of the evaluation index system for the position selection is established, and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is applied to calculate the weight on the evaluation indicators. On this basis, a new method for evaluating the position selection schemes is presented on the principle of the gray system.
