The minimum hop paths in single_rate is used in traditional Ad Hoc route selections. This strategy tends to contain long_range links that have low effective throughput and reduced reliability in multi_rate networks. In this paper, a distributed location-based routing protocol in multi_rate Ad Hoc wireless networks is described, which uses location information and maximum flow algorithm to select the route. Due to its localized nature, this protocol is a trade_off between high transmission rate and effective transmission range with QoS.
