An investigation on statistical multiplexing strategy for real-time stream

Two traditional scheduling algorithms for multiplexer and weight-based multiplying idea for stream media are combined in this paper,and a third-level statistical multiplying strategy is proposed that is suitable for CBR and VBR real-time stream.Basing on analyzing the weight of stream and loss rate,the whole performance of third-level statistical multiplying strategy is discussed.The theoretical inference and simulating result indicate that this kind of statistical multiplying strategy can improve the valid code rate of transport stream under the condition of doing less harm to data,thus it is more advantageous in raising channel utilization.
