TCP Westwood and TCP vegas are two TCP enhancement algorithms.TCPW estimate the available bandwidth according to the rate ofthe returning ACKs.But TCPW stilluses the blindly increasing mechanism during the slow-startphase and the linear increasing phase, leading to the frequent retransmissions of the packets.A new method for TCP enhancement based on these two algorithms is pro-posed,and the new one can lower thelost rate, improve the throughput, andeliminate the TCP Global Synchronization. The improvement is shown by the NS2.
