A Modified Approach to SWAN in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

SWAN,a stateless network protocol,uses distributed control algorithms to deliver service differentiation in an Ad Hoc network.SWAN uses rate control for UDP and TCP best-effort traffic,and sourcebased admission control for UDP real-time traffic.The authors have made several contributions in this paper :①modified rate control by adding queueing algorithm,②run a large set of simulation using different values for the AIMD rate control parameters to understand the characteristics of the modified rate control mechanism.
