Key Techniques on Forest Resource Information Management Based on GIS

It is very important to take effective measures to ensure scientific management of forest resource information and sustainable management of forest resources. Taking Huoditang Forest Farm for a typical example, this paper probes into some main problems of forest resource information management, and then puts forward two key techniques beneficial to scientific management of forest resource information. They are: (1) Graphic data and attribute data should be integrated to be managed on the basis of GIS; (2) A model database should be set up, with which the forest resource data can be dynamically updated and the change of resources can be predicted in the future. Thus the sustainable management of forest resources can be further developed.
