Zhongliang Deng · Information technology newsletter · 2004
A algorithm of the optimal predicted macroblock mode selection for motion estimation is introduced, basing on the researching the multi-prediction macroblock mode of H.264 standard. It is implemented by reducing prediction macroblock search step by step so that speeding up the motion estimation search. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm saves search time greatly, compared with the FS algorithm of searching all macrobolock mode.
