Study on the Matching Between GPS and Digital Map

Results of GPS positioning are usually represented in WGS - 84 frame, while the 2 ?dimensional coordinate system is used in vehicle navigation. How to implement the coordinate transformation is an issue in integration of GPS and GIS. This paper introduces the p rinciple of GPS positioning, the common coordinate systems used in China and the Gaussian projection. Meanwhile, it presents the methods for matching between GPS data and digital maps, showing the vehicle trail in real time.
