Transmission line free from lightning damage bears much significance for the safe operation of electric power system.The paper,based on the lightning damage on transmission line caused by lightning striking line pole,lightning wire or lightning surround striking conductor,brings forward a practical and integrated lightning protection measure for non-lightning-damage power transmission line that line lightning rods of head bundled equalizing needle with split equipotential head shall be provided for all pole towers for which lightning protection measures shall be taken to prevent lightning striking,and line lightning arrester shall be installed on pole tower,large-span pole tower and pole near tall trees and buildings.
