Study on acoustic emission of wood defects based on wavelet packet analysis

The decomposition and rest ructuring algorithm of wavelet packet analysis(WPA) is introduced for studying signals of wood acoustic emission.The initial data collected by acoustic emission testing system are denoised by WPA.The concept about data information identification based on energy-information is shown.An algorithm of using WPA extracting data feature is presented.A new method of wood defects diagnosis is given.Simulation results show that three kinds of defects of wood can be distinguished by this method.
