DIRECT-EXECUTION HIGH-LEVEL LANGUAGE FORTRAN COMPUTER

This paper presents a conceptual design of the direct-execution Fortran Com-puter. First some modifications are introduced into the language Fortran to insure sim-pler execution and better performance. Next follows a brief discussion of the archi-ecture of this computer and then, in more detail, of the direct-execution process of some ypical Fortran statements which may furnish an outline of the work of this computer. Finally, some comments are made on the possible development of the direct-execution high-level language computer.
