Analysis of Ambiguity Function of Symmetrical Triangular Linear Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave Signal

Based on the characteristic of symmetrical triangular frequency modulation continuous wave (STMFCW) radar principle,the ambiguity function of STFMCW signal is presented and analyzed.The differences between the ambiguity function of STMFCW signal and single slope linear frequency modulation continuous wave signal and pulse LFM signal are also discussed.In addition,from the property of its ambiguity function,it is indicated that using the STFMCW signal can considerably enhance the resolution and eliminate the range-velocity coupling of moving target under multi-target environments.
