Code Acquisition and Beamforming Weight Acquisition in DS-CDMA Systems with Antenna Array

A new approach called spatial-temporal correlator (STC) for code acquisition and beamforming weight acquisition is proposed for DS-CDMA systems with adaptive array.The proposed STC uses pilot symbols and exploites both the temporal and spatial information of the signal to improve the performance of code acquisition and beamforming weight acquisition.Suboptimum combining and optimum combining is proposed for spatial filtering in STC.Detection performance of suboptimum combining is theoretically analyzed under spatial AWGN environment.Simulation results agree well with theoretical prediction,and the results show that the STC approach is effective and has improved performance for code acquisition and beamforming weight acquisition.
