Enactment and analysis of review rules for Beckman-Coulter LH750 hematology analyzer

Objective To enact the review rules of hematology analyzer,establish the suitable standard according to the characteristics of the hematology analyzer for our laboratory. Methods Using Beckman-Coulter LH750 hematology analyzer and microscopy,the detection results of 1 050 cases of blood samples were analyzed and compared. Results It showed that the results of 229 samples need to be reviewed,the real positive rate was 14. 1%( 148 samples),the false positive rate was 7. 7%( 81samples),the real negative rate was 75. 6%( 794 samples),and the false negative rate was 2. 6%( 27 samples). The false negative rate( 2. 6%) of our laboratory was in line with the false negative rate( 5. 0%) formulated by International Hematology Review Group. The review rate was 21. 8%. Among different classes of alarm packet,the false positive rate of Abnormal cell morphology was the highest,up to 45. 7%. When these warnings of the instrument occur,microscopic examination should be operated. Conclu sion Our review rules and standards come up to the requirements. It improves the accuracy of routine blood test,diminishes or avoids the misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis.
