A boot method for high-performance DSP in high-capacity wireless transmission technology
Wang Ai-hu · Microcomputer Information · 2010
The implementation of high-capacity wireless transmission technology depends on the high-performance digital signal processor (DSP).Most of C6000 DSP adopt the ROM (Flash) boot mode. When ROM boot is selected as the boot configuration,C6000 DSP will automatically copy 1K byte of code from Flash to address 0 following the release of /RESET.However,the size of DSP programs often exceeds 1K byte.In this event,a secondary bootloader will need to be developed to help load the codes. In this paper, the design and implementation of a C6000 DSP boot method is presented with emphases on the design of secondary bootloader. It is also discussed that how to convert a RAM-based application to a flash-based application and how burn the flash-based application into flash.Practices prove that this method has a steady performance and good portability, therefore is valuable for engineering application.
