Mathematical morphology and its application to line protection

The basic principle of mathematical morphology is introduced.Its application to analysis of signal singularity and fault locating is suggested.Based on the decomposition for multi-resolution morphology gradient(MMG) of signal,it is concluded that the result can alternate with the variation of the signals' singularity.By comparing the maximum values of the first two modulus and time intervals,the algorithm for fault locating is obtained.Simulation results prove the feasibility of the scheme.
