Managing Relational Databases Based on QUICK IMS

It is useful and meaningful to provide full text search on the Relational DataBase (RDB) in development and construction of Management Information System.In this paper the relational database integration technology of IDAPI is adopted to integrate the popular relational database management systems,the RDB is managed using information storage retrieval system QUICK IMS to provide retrieval mechanism suitable for the information retrieval field such as full text search.This paper integrates the database schema,data accessing mechanism,data type of the PC based and SQL based relational databases,transforms the primary table or the result set of single database or multi database query,creates the necessary files and indexes to provide retrieval methods such as boolean search,right truncation search,fielded search and full text search.The paper distributes the data and index thus occupying less disk space.
