An overview on the progress of spatio-temporal data mining

The development history of data mining,spatial data mining and spatio-temporal data mining was reviewed in detail.After some basic concepts about data mining were propounded,this paper compared and analyzed the spatial data mining and conventional knowledge discovery.More attention was paid to the introduction of the theory and methods of spatial,spatio-temporal data mining and their achievements.Then,some problems,which spatial,spatio-temporal data mining faces,were presented.Finally,some hot issues on spatio-temporal data mining in the future were discussed.
