Improvement of Energy Saving Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks Based on LEACH in Mine

In order to maximize the life of the wireless sensor networks, this paper proposes a new algorithm based on the analysis of the LEACH protocol.The new algorithm is mainly improved on the selecting of cluster head. This paper uses a fixed way to choose the cluster head instead of random selection. The results of theoretical and simulation prove that the new algorithm is superior to LEACH protocol, and prolongs the whole wireless sensor networks' life cycle.
