Joint processing of the multiuser detection and the direction of arrival(DOA) estimation in a multipath channel based on the trilinear model is presented. The received signal of array antennas is analyzed.Result shows that the received signal has trilinear model characteristics. The trilinear model for receiving signals of the array antenna in the multipath channel is established according to the trilinear model in the single channel. An improved trilinear alternating least square(ITALS) algorithm is proposed to jointly detect the multiuser and DOA.In the algorithm the direction matrix is reconstructed and DOAs are estimated by Vandermonde characteristics of the direction matrix and the least square principle.Simulation results reveal that the algorithm has the better BER performance, the fast convergence speed, and more accurate DOA estimation performance. When DOA reaches 90°,its estimation performance degrades. The algorithm has blind and robust characteristics.
