Research and optimization on the motion estimation algorithm in H.264

H.264 saving about 50% bits rate more than H.263,in the same reconstructed image quality.However,the cost of the superiority of H.264 is computational complexity increase.Motion estimation is the key technology,it takes over 50% in the total calculated.The general motion estimation algorithm to obtain a high accuracy,often bring a more calculation.So,the optimization algorithm of the text is base on the UMHexagons algorithm which was bring out by Tsinghua University,to made a best balance between accuracy and the computational complexity.
