An Ontology-based Evolution Model for Software Architecture
Liu Wei · Journal of Sichuan University · 2007
Whether at architectural level or at application level, the evolution of software architectures has been re- ceived an exceptional concern.Generic evolution rules for software architectures retain at application level alone, they are expressed by low-level concepts, however many of them are not interesting to reconstruction of the overall software architecture. To change the situation and improve generalized ability,an evolution model for software ar- chitectures with ontology-based was proposed in the paper. The method could find domain knowledge and evolve them using more high-level concept abstraction, and so it could provide more generalized evolution rules and inde- pendent of any software architectures description or implementation language to ensure consistency of software archi- tectures in process of evolution. In addition,ontology-based evolution model still possesses the abilities such as maintaining serf-stabilization and balance by defining local invariant ontologies, which safeguards consistency of software architectures across the evolution.Evolution model with ontology-based provides an evolution mechanism, which generalizes the execution process of software architectures.
