The Architecture of Telecommunication Software Based on Network Convergence
Zhan Wei Xu · Journal of Nanjing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications · 2003
This describes a converged network architecture of PSTN and Internet——NGN, and discusses why it should be open and programmable and how this can be accomplished. A discussion of two approaches to open/programmable networks——JAIN and Parlay is provided to highlight the key ideas. Then, the Next Generation Applications——NGA about the convergence network are briefly discussed. At last, the development of the telecommunications software of NGN in the future is also discussed.
