REMOTE SEISMIC NETWORK IN URUMQI

The Urumqi Remote Seismic Network undertakes duties of large earthquake prompt report in Xinjiang area, as well as micro-earthquake monitoring in Urumqi area. With development of national economy and improvement of digital technology, it has been set up as an analog seismic network during the eighth five-year project. During the ninth five-year project, it was improved to a digital teleseismic network. During the tenth five-year project, it will be upgraded to Xinjiang Teleseismic Digital Network by means of newly setting up,expanding and converting to some extent. After network finished, development of network will be much more reasonable, it will provide conveniently reliable data for earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation in Xinjiang area, for earthquake prediction and scientific research work.
