Network Layer Topology Discovery Based on SNMP

With the development of network technique,network structure is more and more complicated,and its functions are more and more strong.Network management has become the key of the network system;topology is the bases of the network management.There are many tools used in topology discovery:Ping tests IP connectivity,Traceroute discovers routers,DNS provides mapping between IP address and host names,ARP tables.For the reasons of more and more network equipments providing SNMP protocol and containing standard MIB information,this paper discusses the network layer based on SNMP.
