A Research of the Degree of Public Concern about the Information of Algae Outbreak in Taihu Lake

Risk communication helps to identify and weigh the choice of policies and decisions in the risk analysis process.Using the questionnaire,the paper investigates the degree of public's concern about the related information of the outbreak of algae in Taihu Lake.The types of information concerned are confirmed using the factor analysis;the cluster analysis is made on the investigated groups to obtain the basic features of different groups.On the basis of the statistical analysis of the factors that affect the public attention,the concept of the hazard information exchange is introduced in order to increase the public concern and reinforce the measures of risk communications.Studies show that factors that influence the public concern mainly include the education of public and the access to information.Corresponding measures are to carry out educational activities,broaden the access to risk information and improve the efficiency of risk-information exchange.
