Design and Implementation of A Virtual Honeynet

Information security defense mechanism is changed from passivity to initiative as the information age is coming, the virtual honeynet as an effective way against attack, has received more and more attention. A virtual honeynet should be a strictly-controlled system and detect the action of attacker. In this paper, a type of virtual honeynet is designed and implemented. The overall design and topology of the virtual honeynet are put forward first. Then, the virtual honeynet is implemented and its function models are analyzed. The test result verifies that the honeynet is an effective way to capture attackers information and has reached the intended targets.
