A Survey of Methods in Handwritten Chinese Character Segmentation

Chinese character segmentation has a significant role in off-line handwritten Chinese character recognition system.This paper provides a review of the methods and strategies in character segmentation.It contrasts merits and weaknesses of these methods,and especially introduces the recognition-based segmentation.In the end,some suggestions are listed to improve the development of Chinese character segmentation.
