Application of Mixed-language Programming in Optimal Design of Cross Section of Gravity Dam

Aiming at optimal design of cross section of gravity dam,the master-control program and interface are developed by use of Visual Basic,Shell function calling Fortran applications program to perform numerical calculation.Fortran applications program under Dos environment is upgraded into under Windows environment through mixed programming.The results show that this method is easy to master and the interaction ability of application procedure operation and man-machine interfacing are improved.
