A Fast and Accurate Thinning Algorithm

Thinning is widely used in image processing and pattern recognition. The skeleton obtained from thinning not only maintains the geometric and topologic features of the original image, but also substantially reduces its redundancy.There are all kinds of thinning algorithms.This paper introduces a thinning algorithm, which is simple yet can maintain the same advantages of other key algorithms.This algorithm only uses a very small set of rules of criteria for deleting pixels,it is faster and easier to implement.
