Lossless Compression Transmission of Images in Excavation Monitoring System

In order to reduce the cost of time and bandwidth in the transfer process and satisfy the need for monitoring accuracy in excavation monitoring system,it is necessary to implement lossless compression of the checkerboard image.So the characteristics of the checkerboard image are analyzed,and based on the lossless compression theory,several image lossless compression algorithms including Huffman,RLE,AE,LZW and so on,are compared.The effect of image lossless compression after DCT transform is also discussed.Experimental results show that the LZW encoding method,with the largest compress ratio and speed for the checkerboard image,is the most ideal perfect lossless compression method in excavation monitoring system.
