In order to ensure the reliable operation and realization of periodical inspection function of hierarchical wireless sensor network used in coal mines for monitoring gas,we designed the operation sequence of the network.Based on the characteristics of the hierarchical structure,a data collecting scheduling for the infrastructural network and a data transmitting scheduling for the upper backbone network were proposed respectively.Aiming at the problem that the data collection in lower basic network is quite possible to fail,we proposed an overtime handling mechanism of data collection for the infrastructural network.According to the possibility of data transmitting failure,we put forward an overtime handling mechanism of data transmitting for the upper backbone network.Experiments in both laboratory and underground coal mine indicate that the hierarchical wireless sensor network is reliable in operation and capable of realizing the periodical inspection function.
