Advances in Atherosclerosis and Scavenger Receptor

Atherosclerosis is one of the most serious diseases,which is main pathobolism of cerebrovascular diseases.It seriously harms human's health.Recent researches showed that scavenger receptor played an important role in the metabolism of cholesterol.Scav- enger receptor is a family of multiligand and multifunctional glucoprotein receptor that involves in atherogenesis,host denfense,cell ad- hension,cell proliferation and apoptosis.The article reviewed the structure,distribution,expression and regulation of scavenger receptor and its effectiveness in the atherosclerosis to search for the means of prevention and cure.
