In this paper, the QAM modulation techniques and its disadvantages were discussed, and, the struc- tures of the coder and the decoder were given and presented, the corresponding decoding algorithm was presented. The proposed strcture and algorithm can Solve the conflict between the bandwidth utilization and transmission speed. Moreover, Viterbi decoding technqiues are adopted to improve the capacity of interference rejection and correctness. Therefore, the improved QAM techniqies show good prospect in power-line communication system.
