Improved Partial Least Square Regression and Its Application to Dam Safety Monitoring

Aiming to irrelevant information between the independent variable and the dependent variable leading to the deviation problem using partial least-squares regression,the improved partial least-squares regression algorithm was applied to establish the mathematical model of horizontal displacement of the dam.Taken the certain concrete arch dam body as an example,the results show that the improved partial least-squares regression model can effectively eliminate the impact of noise by orthogonal projection transformation of the interpretation matrix,furthermore the fitting effect and the forecast capacity obtained by the established statistic model are better than those of the partial least-squares regression model on the premise of ensuring the explanation capacity.
