Information Communicating and Sharing Among Supply Chain Based on Web Services

Information communicating and sharing is the key to reduce the cost of supply chain. EDI is a traditional choice to achieve it. But EDI is so complex and expensive that most mid and small businesses cannot afford it. The emerging Web services technology simplifies the development of interorganizational systems with lower cost because it using open Internet standards and XML. Its hopeful that Web services will become an important solution of realizing information communicating and sharing among supply chain. The paper describes the key point of Web services technology and gives an example of information communicating and sharing among supply chain based on Web services.
