On the Significance of Componential Analysis

Based on Structural Linguistics,componential analysis assumes that the meaning of a word consists of smaller semantic components.With brevity and clarity,componential analysis helps to explain the different relations between linguistic elements,dig out the semantic factors underlying syntactic and morphological processes,and discover the universal conceptual structures in language.It is a progress in the history of linguistics.
