The Development of a Fault Diagnosis System with the Marine Meteorological Instrument

A fault diagnosis system of the marine meteorological instrument (MMI) was developed. This fault diagnosis system was developed with modular design in the hardware. And each module was designed with the low consumed power embedded system based on the AVR chip micro-computer. The fault diagnosis model based on the expert system has been developed. The application results show that the system could rapidly and exactly give the diagnosis of the MMI about the fault mode and position. This system has made the serviceability and maintainability of the marine meteorological instrument improved effectively.
