This paper introduces the managing status of telecommunication network in multi-vendor environment and the problems caused by the separate network systems. Then it presents the function of the integrated network management,it also presents the importance of gateway interface in the framework of the integrated network management. It points out the trend of developing the network management system is developing the integrated network management system in the future, the gateway platform is the basic part of the integrated network management system. The paper analyses several kinds of interfaces and communication protocols existed and points out the reasons why those interfaces will exist and develop together for a long time.It also expatiates on the necessity and importance of developing a general gateway platform to manage the different interfaces. After studying the integrated network management system developed in the project,it makes out a general framework of the integrated network management system, finally, gives out a general gateway platform in the framework.
