As a high effective measurement and mapping technology,a three-dimensional imaging laser scanning technology has the features of high speed,high effectiveness,non-contact,penetrability,activeness, high accuracy and high density.It is being gradually used in the various fields of our country.The application of the three-dimensional scanning technology and the performance of the current products in the market are presented.A ground-based three-dimensional imaging laser scanner prototype is developed. Its operation principle,components,main techniques and specifications are given.Finally,the problems in the current market are analyzed and the future work is described.
