Intelligence in Video Surveillance Technology

This paper analyzes three stages of video technology development and the development of video surveillance technology in recent years. A trend towards intelligent video surveillance (IVS), led by bionics, is predicted and models and application areas are discussed. Intelligence is perhaps the most important and difficult trend to achieve in video surveillance technology. Characteristics of the IVS industry are considered and an adaptive development strategy for IVS is proposed.
