Application of Adaptive Genetic Algorithm in Multimodality Image Registration

This paper introduced several optimization algorithms of medical image registration based on the mutual information.An improved adaptive genetic algorithm was proposed and applied to the optimization process of multimodality image registration.By adjusting the probability of crossover and mutation during the pre-optimization and post-optimization and by utilizing the second crossover and emigration strategies,the method can overcome the disadvantage of traditional genetic algorithm that is easy to get into a local optimum answer.The paper also gives the arithmetic steps of image registration with the improved adaptive genetic algorithm.According to the analyses of the experimental process and the picture contrasts after matching,the experiment results indicate the validity and feasibility of the adaptive genetic algorithm used in the multi-modality image registration.
