A novel on-board sampling-sensing statistically adaptive multiple access protocol that is particularly suitable for reservation channel of satellite networks is developed. The protocol is very simple, which is aimed at contention protocol and long delay characteristics and uses statistical method to adaptively adjust sending probability. The simulation result shows that the protocol can not only enhance satellite uplink's throughput and make it stabilized to the maximum region, but also decrease the end-to-end delay. This protocol is very suitable for uplink multi-send single-receive and downllink single-send multi-receive satellite or ground network systems.
