This paper covers a successful application of Visual Basic and OPC in bulk grain conveying system.Visual Basic is adopted to realize the connection between ADO and SQL Server and OPC protocol is used for the communication between host and client WinCC.The bulk grain conveying monitoring system with PLC and the related components and the PROFIBUS control net attains dynamic monitoring of field equipment,data querying of bins'capacity and report printing.
