A Response Delayed Algorithm for TCP Data Packets to be Reordered in MANET

The mobility of nodes in mobile ad hoc networks(MANET) will result in lots of disordered data packets at receiving end, thus degrading the performance of TCP protocol.A new protocol(TCP-D) was proposed to improve the performance of TCP in MANET via the congestion control algorithm with trigger response delayed for a short time. The analysis of the response delayed TCP protocol showed that if no disordered packets in MANET,its steady state throughput is similar to that implemented according to standard TCP,thus providing the compatibility with standard TCP protocol. Moreover, the simulation results showed that if there are disordered packets in MANET,the response delayed TCP protocol can offer the throughput more than the standard TCP,and it still has quite good fairness and compatibility if no disordered packets.
