A new digital image encryption approach

Yanmin Wang · Optical Technique · 2008

A new 2D invertible chaotic map is proposed to realize image encryption, based on the principle of chaotic stretching and folding.Firsdy,a square image is stretched to a line by the principle of scanning and inserting, and then, the line is folded over to a new square image of which size is same as the original image. The map consists of the left map and the right map,of which numbers are used as the keys. The simulation results show that the image encryption has no information loss, and has better safety and noise resistance.
