Preliminary Study on Critical Depth of Ground Water Table

This paper analyzes and discusses the classification of critical water table depth,as well as the basis and principle for categorizing the'blue region','yellow region' and 'red region'.Considering the wide existing problems about ground water in Northwestern China,Northern China and eastern coastal area,this paper proposes a 'Blue water level' and a'Red water level'for the study areas.Results of this study may provide some important basis for quantity management of water resources,and quantity-water level related integrated management of ground water.
